Mariela Sarkima
Biography
Mariela Sarkima is a Finnish sound artist and wellbeing educator creating immersive experiences where sound, silence and meaningful human connection meet. Whether performing on stage or guiding a small group, her work invites people to pause, listen deeply and reconnect with themselves.
With over 20 years of professional experience in wellbeing, beauty, event production and content creation, Mariela combines sound instruments, breath and mindfulness practices into concerts, workshops and restorative Sound Journeys for individuals, businesses, public and non-profit organizations. She also hosts the monthly Sunday Sounds sessions at Roots Yoga Helsinki and trains both professionals and consumers in integrating sound into wellbeing practices. As a pioneer of sound-based education for the wellness and beauty industry in Finland, she has developed training concepts that integrate singing bowls into professional salon treatments, elevating them into multisensory wellbeing experiences.
Mariela's main focus in 2026–2027 is Nature | Sound, a foundation-funded, community-based project creating soundscaped listening experiences and immersive audio journeys that combine nature recordings and sound vibration.
